Yes. It is waterproof, UV stable so a south or west elevation holds its colour, and fungus and algae resistant, which matters on a north wall through the monsoon. It is also freeze-thaw resistant, so it is suitable for hill-station projects.

No. Colour comes from inorganic mineral pigment distributed through the body rather than from a printed or coated surface, so a west-facing elevation holds its shade rather than bleaching out over a few summers.

Yes. It is waterproof and fungus and algae resistant, so it carries straight through from a bedroom into an ensuite without a change of material at the door. This continuity is one of the most common reasons it gets specified on hotel and spa projects.

Maintenance is washing down with water. There is no sealing cycle, no annual oiling and no re-grouting, because the colour is mineral pigment through the body rather than a surface coating, and there are no grout lines to discolour.

Yes. The surface accepts mineral paint, so a wall can be recoloured without stripping the cladding off — useful for retail rollouts and hospitality refurbishments where the texture is worth keeping but the palette changes.

The limit is quoted as a diameter: the tightest circle the sheet forms cold is 381mm — 15 inches — across, which is a 190mm radius. In practice that means it wraps any circular column of 381mm diameter or more, plus arches, barrel vaults, coves and curved reception fronts, with no heat, scoring or relief cuts. Vertically corrugated collections such as Ripple Stone and Liner Stone handle the tightest end best, because the corrugation absorbs the compression on the inner face. Below 381mm diameter, and on a sharp external arris, the bend is outside what the material will do — those need a radiused substrate or a conventional mitre.

Any sound, dry, level substrate: cement plaster, concrete, gypsum board, plywood, AAC block, brickwork and existing tile. The substrate needs to be free of loose material and dust, and level enough that undulation will not show through — deep-relief collections are less forgiving here than flat ones.

With a notched trowel and a polymer-modified adhesive applied to the substrate. The sheet is pressed on, worked out from the centre to expel air, and rolled. There is no mechanical fixing, no support frame and no wet cutting — sheets are trimmed with a knife or shears.

The figure worth comparing is the installed cost, not the material rate: there is no support frame, no structural allowance, no wet cutting and far less labour, which typically brings the total below a natural stone equivalent even where the material rate is similar. Yes. Light passes through the body, so a panel lit from behind glows rather than staying flat — the effect people associate with backlit onyx, at a fraction of the weight and cost. Mount an even LED panel or a diffused strip array behind it rather than point sources, which show as hot spots through a 3mm sheet. Pale shades transmit most; dark ones read as a subtle halo at the joints. It works on façades, bar and reception fronts, and printed feature panels.
